Placenta Encapsulation Services - With Jessica Poulsen
Placenta Encapsulation is believed to have a number of wonderful benefits for postpartum women. Probably the most well known benefit is the potential to lessen or even prevent postpartum depression, but other advantages many women have reported is increased energy, faster recovery, increased milk supply and less postpartum bleeding.
There are two main techniques for Placenta Encapsulation, the Traditional Chinese Medicine method which incorporates the natural energy present in the placenta organ as part of therapy, and the Raw Method which specifically focuses on the potential nutritional and hormonal content of the placenta. I have been trained professionally in both techniques and currently do offer both types of placenta encapsulation.
The placenta is considered rich in iron and protein, which would be useful to women recovering from childbirth, and a particularly beneficial to vegetarian women. Pregnancy is taxing on the body, even if the mother follows the best of health regimes. The theory behind placentophagy is that you are returning the nutrients lost during the birth process back to the body to aide in quick and smooth postpartum recovery.
The benefits of placenta encapsulation include:
Pricing for encapsulation: $150 for Raw Method, $160 for TCM, and $25 for Tincture.
**I follow OSHA standards having successfully completed a Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP) Training course (in accordance with the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard 29 CFR 1910.1030). Your placenta is prepared using ONLY and ALL sterilized equipment

Mother's Sprinkle - With Lindsay Ransom
Also known as a "Mother's Blessing or Blessingway," it evolved from the ancient Navajo Tradition of creating ceremonies and rituals for the mother-to-be, in a way that honors and celebrates her upcoming birth. Often times, taking the place of a conventional baby shower; where everyone's focus is solely on the baby throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, society frequently forgets the important 'vessel' -the mother. Every woman deserves to be honored, celebrated & empowered by a close group of women who will walk with you through this threshold from old to new. Your emotional well being is an integral part of the process, don't forget your self care. You aren't indulging, you are investing in one of the most unforgettable chapters of your life!
In science, psychiatry, and in tradition it is a fact that one of the most important coping mechanisms for humans is, ritual.
The best part about this event is that it can be tailored to fit any mother's needs. From any background, culture, religion or belief system. The best part is, you get to choose what will help fill your cup.
The Cost: $140

Postpartum Doula Services - With Jessica Poulsen
A postpartum doula provides evidenced based information on things such as infant feeding, emotional and physical recovery from birth, mother–baby bonding, infant soothing, and basic newborn care.
A postpartum doula is there to help a new family in those first days and weeks after bringing home a new baby. Research shows that moms, dads and babies have an easier time with this transition if a good support team is in place.
What Type Of Services Does A Postpartum Doula Provide?
The postpartum doula offers many services to her clients, but her main goals are to help “mother the mother”, and nurture the entire family as they transition into life with a newborn. This would include doing things to help mom and dad feel more confident in their roles, sharing education on family adjustment and tending to the unique needs of a new mother.
A postpartum doula works with each family individually to find out their particular needs.
Some of the duties that a postpartum doula will perform include:
*Breastfeeding support
*Help with the emotional and physical recovery after birth
*Light housekeeping so that mom does not feel so overwhelmed
*Running errands
*Assistance with newborn care such as diapering, bathing, feeding and comforting
*Light meal preparation
*Baby soothing techniques
*Sibling care
*Referrals to local resources such as parenting classes, pediatricians, lactation support and support groups
*Night time service to help the family transition more smoothly into the challenges of night time parenting.
Postpartum Doula services are $20 an hour for up to 4 hours and only $15 an hour if more than 4 hours is booked.

Infant Sleep Education - With Lindsay Ransom
One of the #1 concerns for all parents alike is: sleep. Whether they should be sleep training; sleeping longer; sleeping shorter; sleeping alone; not sleeping alone; what is normal; what is safe; is a schedule necessary; what are safe practices; and how to prevent SIDS.
YOU ARE NOT ALONE! I will help you find solutions that fit your needs and meet the needs of your baby/toddler.
My sleep services provide an alternative solution to 'sleep training, crying it out', or just struggling through it. As a certified infant sleep educator, I will help you to understand the science behind infant & child sleep, we will discuss what "normal" is, & how to provide a safe and conducive sleep environment. This will help you to have realistic expectations around normal, and healthy sleep behavior.
I help your family find the balance around everyone's sleep needs, with gentle and respectful coaching, recommendations and validation. I can assess your current concerns and together we can get to the root of the issue(s), while brainstorming some ideas, to give you the tools and education to help you make the necessary changes that feel right for all of you.

Dream On... The Art and Science of Infant Sleep
What is an infant sleep educator?
As an educator, not to be mistaken for a sleep "trainer", I provide the foundational knowledge of what healthy infant/toddler and maternal sleep looks like. What is biologically normal and promotes healthy development as well as attachment between your baby and you. I will help you to understand what a inviting sleep environment is, how to ensure the safety of the sleep arrangement, what developmental milestones may interfere with restful sleep, review of the myths vs. realities, and tools to help soothe your baby to sleep.
Sleep is a developmental milestone, so we cannot simply force sleep on our children, it is a learned practice. When you feel like you are at your wits end, faced with sleep challenges, and wondering when anyone is going to get the rest they need. If you feel like what you're doing now isn't working or goes against your intuition, I will provide alternative solutions to the popular practices that are being recommended today.

Postpartum Belly Binding - With Lindsay
Beng Kung Belly Binding is a traditional Malaysian belly wrapping method that involves tightly knotting muslin cotton around the abdomen, to form a 'corset' like wrap. Why Would you want to do this? For many reasons!
- Gives support to the womb & other organs after birth.
- Helps the uterus to contract & expel old blood clots.
- Helps to reduce common back & shoulder pain associated with nursing, by improving posture.
- Helps support your abdominal muscles & hips.
- Relieves muscular & tendon tension throughout the torso.
- Relieves water retention
- Accelerates fat burning
- Improves circulation
- Provides comfort for anxiety & postpartum depression
- Helps to bring your abdominal muscles (that have separated during pregnancy) closer together to assist in healing Diastasis Recti.
- Lastly, your body has opened to provide room for a growing uterus/baby. It has increased it's temperature to incubate your growing baby, then it opened up to birth your baby, After the birth, your body is in a "cold state". You no longer have the excess blood, water, fat & baby to help keep it warm. Healing tissues & muscles is promoted by warmth. By applying a warming paste, massage, and belly binding, you can drastically improve your body's ability to heal naturally.
- Belly Massage
- Warming paste
- Instruction on how to bind yourself
- Apply the bind for you
- I can return to assist you as needed at a small fee.
